About Us

Nier Avraham, the first Bukharian-Sephardic congregation in South Florida, was officially established on May 23rd, 1999, Just one week before Shavuot. The founding decision was made under the leadership of the future Gabbai, Mr. Israel Aminov, whose dedication helped lay the foundation for what would become a strong vibrant community, and named in memory of the president's father, Avraham Yagudaev Z"L, honoring his legacy and illuminating spirit. 

Growth & Expansion

Nier Avraham became the pioneer Bukharian-Jewish institution in South Florida, serving Jews from various regions of Central Asia (AKA Bukharian Jews) 

Over time, the community expanded significantly, and today South Florida is home to over 1,200 Bukharian-Jewish families.

In our Synagogue, our mission and vision is to inspire every Jew to live with Torah values, refined middot (character traits) dedication to mitzvot, and a commitment to helping others (Zikkui HaRabaim) 

To continue strengthening the Bukharian Jewish life in America while ultimately building a thriving and united community in Eretz Israel.  

Meet the Rabbi 

Rabbi Daniel (Kalendarev)  El-Gad was born in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan, to David and Liza Kalendarev, during a time when Jewish life in the Soviet Union struggled to survive.
